Broken Storefront Glass Replacement

Storefront panes are large, highly visible and usually the first thing damaged in a vehicle strike, a break-in or an act of vandalism. Damaged glass is removed and disposed of safely, the opening is secured, the frame is measured and checked for distortion, and a replacement pane is fabricated to size and glazed back into the existing framing with fresh gaskets or wet seal.

Where a business needs to keep trading, board-up bridges the gap between the incident and the new pane arriving. Larger, coated or insulated panes take longer to fabricate than a plain tempered pane, so securing the opening first is usually the right sequence.

Commercial Window Glass Replacement

Window glass is replaced without disturbing the frame in most cases. The team confirms the glass thickness, the make-up and how deep the pane sits in the frame, then fabricates a match.

• Cracks that have spread from a chip or a stress point
• Impact damage from debris, hail or building works nearby
• Scratched or etched glass from cleaning abrasives or graffiti
• Single-pane glass being upgraded to an insulated unit where the frame has the depth for it

Fogged and Failed Insulated Glass Unit Replacement

A haze, milky film or visible moisture between the panes means the perimeter seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. Because the condensation forms on the internal faces of the sealed cavity, it cannot be cleaned off, and the unit has also lost part of its insulating value.

Venting or drilling techniques circulate air through the cavity but do not restore the seal, and the unit continues to degrade. Replacing the sealed unit is the only durable fix. The framing almost always stays in place, which makes this a faster and less disruptive job than most people expect. Cracked Door Glass Replacement

Door glass takes constant vibration and impact, and cracks tend to appear at hardware points where stress concentrates. In an aluminum stile-and-rail door the glass sits inside the frame and can be replaced without changing the door itself.

All-glass doors are different. The glass is the door, and the hardware cut-outs are machined before toughening, so a broken panel means a new leaf fabricated to match the original hole pattern exactly. Keep any record of the original specification, since it makes replication considerably faster.

Broken Mirror Replacement

Broken mirrors are replaced to the original size and edge finish, whether that is a single vanity mirror, a full-wall panel or one panel in a gym or studio run. For a mirror run, matching thickness and edge treatment across panels matters so the replacement does not stand out from its neighbours.

Where cut-outs for sconces, outlets or switches were present, note their positions before the old mirror is removed. That measurement is much harder to recover afterwards.

Shower Glass and Hardware Replacement

Shower enclosures usually fail at the hardware, not the glass. A door that drops, drags or will not stay closed generally needs hinges, clamps or a strike replaced rather than a new panel, and that is a far cheaper repair.

Aluminum Framing Repair

Glass replacement will not hold in framing that is damaged. If a frame is bent, out of square, corroded, or has lost its anchorage, the new pane sits under stress and is likely to fail again.

Framing work covers straightening or replacing damaged sections, renewing gaskets and wet seals, refixing loose anchors, and resolving sill and threshold damage after an impact. The frame is always assessed before glass is ordered, so you are not paying twice for the same opening.

Commercial Door Component Replacement

Door hardware wears out on a predictable cycle and is usually the reason a door starts misbehaving long before the door itself is worn out.

• Closers that slam, drift, or leak hydraulic oil
• Worn bottom pivots letting the leaf drag on the threshold
• Deadlatches and mortise locks that no longer engage the strike
• Loose or damaged pull handles and push bars
• Thresholds, sweeps and weatherstripping that have perished

What Affects Timing and Cost

• Glass make-up. A plain tempered pane in a common thickness turns around faster than a coated insulated unit.
• Size. Large panes need more material and more labour to handle safely.
• Access. Upper-floor openings, restricted parking and out-of-hours working all affect the labour element.
• Frame condition. If the framing needs work, that is priced alongside the glass.
• Matching. Replicating an existing hole pattern or an unusual tint adds fabrication time.
